Welcome to Grace
We're really glad you want to know more about Grace Church Bellingham! We're a messy group of people, glad and amazed that God would save sinners like us, and growing by the grace of God into Christian maturity.
Church is not a place we come to put our best foot forward, but rather a place to acknowledge our sin, our weakness and our need for the cross. It's freeing to acknowledge our need for the gospel not just at the beginning of the Christian life but in everyday living.
Maybe you're wondering what exactly is the gospel? If one of the reasons you're checking out our church is that you're also checking out Christianity, please dig deeper. Our brief explanation is here. You can also click to see The Story, an explanation of what Christianity is all about.
Grace is a non-denominational church, committed to the rich and transforming gospel of Jesus. But even though we're not part of a denomination, we do benefit from many resources that help us grow as a church. They include The Gospel Coalition, CCEF, Liberate, and others. You can visit our Resources tab at the top of this page to see more.
Our church began in 2009. We're led by a team of eight elders, rather than just one pastor. Our Sunday service includes singing, preaching (expository sermons from the teaching elder), and prayer. We meet at 8:45 & 10:30 AM on Sunday mornings at 1815 Cornwall Ave in downtown Bellingham. It's an informal atmosphere (with serious worship!), and we have lots of parking.
A lot of church life happens throughout the week: home groups (we call them Grace Groups), Bible and book studies, sharing meals together, prayer, service in our neighborhoods—things like that. We try to keep it simple, focusing on the Bible, the gospel, people, and the mission to make disciples who in turn make more disciples. The best way to learn more about Grace is to come join us on a Sunday morning. We'd love to meet you!
