Dax Swanson, Senior Pastor
Dax was blessed to grow up in Hawaii, attend Princeton University, serve the sick and deliver babies as a physician, experience missions in China and Africa, and has been on the receiving end of the blessings of a wonderful wife and two beautiful kids. He’s received an M.D. from U.C.S.F. and an M.Div. from The Master’s Seminary. He really does count it all loss for the wonder of the good news of Jesus Christ. He has to pinch himself that he gets to spend his life proclaiming the gospel in expositing the Word of God chapter by chapter, verse by verse.
He has served the church in his current role since it was planted in August, 2009.
Any book he’s preaching on is his current favorite book of the Bible. He loves to read about the application of the gospel to daily living (see book recommendations), and is always willing to sit down and talk about the hope and grace we have in Christ. It is no accident that his two daughters are named Hope and Grace!
Aaron Dickson, Associate Pastor of Worship and Body Life
Aaron grew up in Bellingham and, later, attended The Master’s College in Santa Clarita, CA on a basketball scholarship. While there, the Lord made it clear that he wanted Aaron worshiping through music rather than pursuing a career in athletics. He gave Aaron the privilege of studying under Dr. Paul Plew, the chairperson for the music department at Masters. During that time, Aaron grew in his love for corporate worship and met his wife Jen, a standout basketball player at Masters. They were married the summer before their senior year of college.
After graduating with a music and youth degree, Aaron moved back to Bellingham and took a job at Rice Insurance. Once again, the Lord changed Aaron's plans and brought him back to his calling: leading music and teaching young people about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Aaron joined the staff at Grace Church in the summer of 2011.
Aaron and Jen now have two little girls, Analynne and Kyrie. As a family, they enjoy garage saling and Lafeen's donuts on Saturday mornings, playing basketball, and exploring God's beautiful creation on the trails of Bellingham.
