The Old Testament is certainly that...old. What is to be learned from a book written over 3,000 years ago? A book of fighting and sin, of everyone doing “what was right in their own eyes”?
Answering that draws us into the purpose of the Scriptures. Into who people are—even people who have been saved and gifted with the promised land. Into who God is, how he responds to continued sin and human fallenness. Into what God does, his very actions toward those he loves.
He works in surprising, upside-down ways that continue to deliver. Sunday we lookd at smashing salvation...through a tent peg.
