Senior Pastor

I have been blessed to grow up in Hawaii, attend Princeton University, serve the sick and deliver babies as a physician, experience missions in China and Africa, and above all to be on the receiving end of the blessings of a wonderful wife and two beautiful kids. My formal training has been an M.D. from U.C.S.F. and an M.Div. from The Master’s Seminary. I really do count it all loss for the wonder of the good news of Jesus Christ. I pinch myself that I get to spend my life proclaiming the gospel in expositing the Word of God chapter by chapter, verse by verse.

I've served the church in my current role since it was planted in August, 2009.

My favorite book of the Bible is any book I'm currently preaching on. Really! I love to talk about the gospel in daily living, about the hope and grace we have in Christ. Maybe that's why my two kids are named Hope and Grace!

Associate Pastor of Finances, Children's Ministry, and Middle School Youth

I joined the staff here at Grace Church Bellingham as a part time Children’s Director before transitioning into a full time role over children, finance and facilities in 2016. To me there is no greater joy than being able to share the good news of Jesus with kids. My passion is to show kids from a young age the height of our sin and the greater depth of the gospel.

I grew up in Whatcom County and attended Western Washington University where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in 2015. In 2014 God blessed me with my beautiful wife Hana, whom I thank God for every day. I can’t wait to see how God continues to use us as I continue my ministry here at Grace.

Worship, Young Adult Director, and High School Youth

The grace of God is truly incredible, and I have been undeservingly blessed by it. I grew up in San Diego, California in a God loving family that emphasized a walk with Christ as the most important way of life. Both my parents are some of the hardest workers I've known, yet I've never seen them neglect their relationship with Jesus. They have taught me, by their words and example, how to be a disciple of the Lord. Though I fall short of His glory, they instilled in me the knowledge of His great grace and love for His children.

I joined Grace Church Bellingham in May 2016 as a worship intern, and quickly grew to love the church family. A year and a half later I was given the opportunity to join the staff as the Worship Director and Young Adult Leader. Though my two roles are different, the mindset is the same, to honor and glorify God in all things (1 Cor 10:31), in response to God's great grace and love (1 Peter 1:3-9). I am both blessed and humbled to serve the Lord with a loving church family centered on Christ.

Administrative Secretary

My husband Eric and I married in the summer of 1995. Both of us were new believers in Jesus and were excited to grow in Him and serve His people. We have both served the church since we were married. We've been blessed to help in children's, youth, college, women's minstry, church events, and discipleship. I get to do a little of all of that as well as talk to lots of people as the secretary. Helping or serving others is always a joy to me and never work! I love making things easier for our ministries and staff. It is a joy and a blessing to work for you.

We have two children, Cody (17), and Natalie (14). We live in Bellingham, with our dogs, Zeke and Jack. Our family spends our summers on the fishing and camping. We love where we live!

Director of Sound & Music Development

Music, church and family have always been passions of mine.  I grew up in Southern California in a family where we played music together and as a part of our church.

I attended The Master’s University in Newhall, California, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree, with emphases in Banjo, Theory and Composition, and Audio Engineering.  My husband and I met at college, and the Lord used him to really bring me to a freeing understanding of God’s grace and the gospel.

When we got married in 2012, we moved up to Bellingham where we started to attend Grace Church.  This church felt like home before I even moved here, and I am so thankful to be able to be a part of this amazing body.
